Crate Racin' USA

A Late Model Sportsman Tour Champion will be Crowned at Cherokee!

(Eastaboga, AL - November 15, 2024) - The inaugural Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Late Model Sportsman Tour will come to a close this Sunday at "The Place Yo Momma Warned You About," Cherokee Speedway for the $2,000 to-win Blue Grey. Three drivers head into the event with a chance at the series championship: Logan Bradford, Chase Giddens, and Caleb Ashby. These three have battled all season long for the right to be called Late Model Sportsman Tour champion, and one of them will leave Gaffney, SC, with the title.

Each driver took a moment to explain what winning this championship would mean to them.

Logan Bradford (Huntsville, AL) - "Ever since the big announcement was made that a Crate Racin' USA Late Model Sportsman Tour Championship was becoming a thing. We immediately started preparing our equipment for this deal. It has made me grow and learn as a driver and think of the points situation while on track and being cautious of my equipment. I feel like this will be one of the biggest accomplishments of my career with it being the inaugural season for me to win the first ever championship is a big deal. With it being my second-year racing and immediately getting into a Late Model I feel like I have gained a ton of experience by running the Sportsman Tour. Hopefully this Sunday I can be named a champion for the Crate Racin' USA Late Model Sportsman Tour."

Chase Giddens (Moultrie, GA) - "It would be a dream for me win my 1st Crate Racin' USA Late Model Sportsman Championship these last few months have been pretty tough battling some health issues, Racing has been my biggest motivation during this time it’s my life. I set out to win this Championship months back during that time I was diagnosed with a brain tumor/brain cancer, I started a new race for my life too and it would make this championship win pretty memorable. It’s been a blessing that I have been able to compete in these races and to just have the chance to race alongside of some great racers."

Caleb Ashby (Cunningham, TN) - "It would be an honor to be the first and an exclamation mark on the year."

The Blue Grey will wrap up its nine-race season, which originally kicked off on March 30th at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA, with Jason Garver winning the season-opening event. Over the course of the series, six different drivers were added to the winners' list before Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL became the first two-time winner at the most recent event on September 28th at Pine Ridge Speedway in Guntown, MS. This will be the series' first-ever visit to Cherokee Speedway, and its only stop in the state of South Carolina. The event will be co-sanctioned with the Mid-East 602 Late Models.
