Hughes Claims Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock Ice Bowl Championship

(Eastaboga, AL - January 4, 2025) – Spencer Hughes of Meridian, MS, dominated the Crate Racin' USA Street Stock feature race at the 34th Annual Ice Bowl on Friday night, claiming the $2,500 top prize after leading all 30 laps of the main event at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.

Hughes, who started from the second position, quickly took command of the 30-lap race and never looked back, fending off challenges from several competitors to secure the victory in the high-stakes race. Despite pressure from talented drivers throughout the event, Hughes remained unchallenged at the front of the field, proving his skill and determination on the ice-cold evening.

The Road to Victory
Before Hughes claimed his Ice Bowl title, a pair of B-Mains set the stage for the action-packed night. In the first B-Main, Justin Mcree emerged victorious, edging out Darrell Hartman, Derrick Tillman, and Stephen Trimm to earn a spot in the main event. The second B-Main saw Tyler Dixon take the win, followed by Keenan Vandygriff, Brock Love, and Tim Kilby securing their spots in the feature.
