Heavy Rain Cancels Wednesday Practice at Volusia
(Barberville, FL – January 22, 2025) – Due to inclement weather moving through central Florida Tuesday night into Wednesday, officials from the World Racing Group and Volusia Speedway Park have made the decision to cancel Wednesday’s practice day at the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals.
The decision was made to ensure the racing surface and pit area will be properly prepared for competition later in the week.
Despite the cancellation of Wednesday’s practice, racing action will proceed as scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The event will feature the World of Outlaws Late Models, Crate Racin’ USA Late Models, and 602 Late Models.
Thursday and Friday’s Crate Racin' USA shows will each feature $1,500-to-win preliminary features, while the weekend will culminate with a $10,000-to-win main event on Saturday night.
Thursday’s revised schedule:
- Pit Gates Open: 10:30 a.m.
- Hauler Load-In: 11:00 a.m.
- Spectator Gates Open: 3:00 p.m.
- Hot Laps: 4:00 p.m.
All other times will remain the same. Fans and competitors are encouraged to stay tuned for additional updates throughout the week.
