Unfavorable Forecast Cancels Winter Shootout Series at I75 Raceway

(Eastaboga, AL – February 12, 2025) – Due to an unfavorable weather forecast following a week of heavy rainfall in East Tennessee, I75 Raceway and Crate Racin' USA officials have made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday's The Sweetheart event. The race will not be rescheduled, but the series remains excited to work with I75 Raceway in the future.

“We’ve been in constant communication with I75 all week, continuously evaluating the situation. Unfortunately, the weather just isn’t in our favor this weekend,” said Series Director Adam Stewart. “These decisions are never easy, but with the forecast for more rain and the amount of rain that has already fallen, we all agree this is the best decision for the fans and the race teams.”

This event was set to mark the first-ever visit for the Winter Shootout Series to the Sweetwater, TN, facility. While the cancellation is disappointing, the series looks forward to future opportunities with I75 Raceway, and one of those will be this coming June when the national tour will return for the first time since 2023, this time for the J.T. Kerr Memorial, making the move from the now closed 411 Motor Speedway to I75 on June 21st.

Eyes on Hendry County Motorsports Park for Winter Shootout Finale |
Looking ahead, all attention now shifts to Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, FL, for the Winter Shootout Series finale next weekend, February 21-22. The 3rd Annual Swamp Cabbage 100 will serve as the grand finale for the tenth season of the winter mini-series, with drivers and teams battling for a $15,000 payday.

Preliminary action will kick off on Friday, February 21st, with B-Mains leading up to the 75-lap main event on Saturday night. The event marks the first-ever visit to “The Southern Most Dirt Track in the USA,” and will feature not only CRUSA 604 Late Models but also exciting races across several divisions, including a $22,000-to-win Factory Stock feature, a $10,000-to-win Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock feature, and a $5,000-to-win 4.6 Fords event. There will be an open practice on Thursday night, February 20th for all divisions.

Both nights of the Swamp Cabbage 100 will be broadcast live on Crate Racin’ USA TV and Done Right TV, giving fans across the nation a chance to catch the action.
