Shipp Captures 2025 Jerry Shipp Memorial at Hunt County
(Greenville, TX - May 12, 20205) – Donnie Shipp etched his name in the history books on Friday night winning the 2025 Jerry Shipp Memorial at Hunt County Raceway, securing his second career American Crate Late Model Series (ACLMS) victory. Shipp powered his No. 25 machine to the front early and led 27 of the 30 laps en route to an emotional win in the event named after his late father.
Shipp had this to say, "Winning this race is very special to me! My dad was my best friend and he was by my side my whole career and I’m so thankful I got to win his race! I’ve won quite a few races but this one is by far the most special win I have". He also explained how the event came about, "The event is very special to me for the fact that my dad never raced but was thought about enough by long time friend and sponsor Jasen Loftice to help create a race in his memory".
Starting from the outside of the front row, Shipp quickly took command of the race and fended off challenges from a strong field of regional talent. Patrik Daniel made a charge to the lead and paced the field for 2 laps before finishing runner-up. Kason Capps, who briefly led a single lap, rounded out the podium with a hard-earned third-place finish after starting seventh.
The victory comes in what turned out to be the only race of the weekend, as Saturday’s scheduled event at RPM Speedway was unfortunately canceled due to inclement weather.

Three races into the 2025 ACLMS campaign have produced three different winners: Corey Neil Jr. (Sabine Speedway), David Winslett (Boothill Speedway), and now Donnie Shipp at Hunt County Raceway. The competition is heating up as the series gears up for its only trip to Oklahoma this season, with Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore set to host the next round on Saturday night, May 17th.
