Guin Clinches First CRUSA Late Model Victory of the Season at Super Bee
(Chatham, LA - May 25, 2025) - Super Bee Speedway was buzzing with excitement on Saturday night as the ASCS Sprints returned for another thrilling evening, and the CRUSA Late Models joined the stacked lineup for a 20-lap showdown. Local driver Colton Guin of Caster, LA etched his name into the record books with his first feature win of the 2025 season.
Guin, piloting the No. 28C machine, entered the night seventh overall in qualifying, clocking in with a time of 15.696 seconds. Despite the mid-pack starting spot, Guin wasted no time in the heat race, charging through the field to finish second behind Robert Young of Haughton, LA.
With momentum on his side, Guin carried his determination into the 20-lap feature. Starting on the outside of the front row, he surged ahead of polesitter Robert Young on the opening lap and quickly set the pace. Guin showed tremendous composure as he navigated the tricky 1/4-mile oval, withstanding pressure from a determined field behind him.
Throughout the feature, Guin maintained control of the race, never faltering as the laps ticked down. Young, who led heat race action, tried to reel him in, but Guin’s consistency and patience ultimately prevailed. When the checkered flag waved, Guin emerged victorious, marking his first feature win of the 2025 season in just his sixth start.
Following the win Guin shared on how important this win was, "Felt great to finally get back in victory lane. Tons of work go into our program and to be on top at the end night is everyone’s ultimate goal. We’ve have struggled with this new car, and I finally feel like we have our program headed in the right direction".
He also shared who helped him make this victory happen, "Thanks to all my crew guys Joey, Alex, Marcus, Logan, Levi, and my Dad." Guin wanted to also thank all of his sponsors JDL Auto Transport, Durr Construction, Tipton’s Texaco, Beast Mode Sports, Guin Machine, Womack Logging, Schloer Logging, Stacy Cason Race Engines, Heritage Land Works, Kepler Nutrition, and Quad A Services.
The final results from the CRUSA Late Model feature showcased Guin’s strong drive, with Young holding on to second and Bubba Mullins of West Monroe, LA rounding out the podium after an impressive recovery from his seventh-place heat race start. Wayne Patton and Raymond Taylor completed the top five.
