Mother Nature Postpones Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour at Talladega
(Eastaboga, AL – June 14, 2025) – Mother Nature continues to be a formidable opponent in the 2025 season, as the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour fell victim to rain showers Saturday night at the Talladega Short Track.
After a day of scattered thunderstorms across the Southeast, a narrow window of clear skies allowed the event to begin on time. A strong field of 26 tour competitors was on hand at the "Hornet’s Nest," and racing action kicked off just after 7:00 PM Central. Hopes were high as preliminary events took place under manageable weather conditions.
However, as the Limited Late Model feature rolled onto the track and took the green flag, heavy rain suddenly returned—initially falling just beyond turns three and four before sweeping across the entire racing surface. The unexpected downpour quickly saturated the track, forcing both Talladega Short Track and Crate Racin’ USA officials to make the difficult decision to postpone the remainder of the night’s program.
A make-up date for the unfinished features is currently being discussed and will be announced in the coming days. Fans and teams are urged to hold onto their wristbands for re-entry once the new date is confirmed. Updates will be posted on the Talladega Short Track Facebook page and website.
Despite the setback, the tour will now look ahead to its next event—a highly anticipated $3,000-to-win feature at Pine Ridge Speedway in Guntown, Mississippi on Saturday, July 5th.

August 16 – Senoia Raceway (Senoia, GA) – $2,000 to win
November 21–22 – Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, GA) – $2,500 to win
November 28–29 – Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, GA) – $5,000 to win
