Crate Racin' USA

Crate Racin' USA Honors JT Kerr This Weekend at I-75

(Eastaboga, AL - June 18, 2025) It's been well over 40 days since the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series took the checkered flag at Swainsboro Raceway back in May, that streak ends this weekend in Sweetwater, Tennessee as the series comes to the I-75 Raceway this Friday and Saturday night!

It will be the eight-time all-time the series has visited the I-75 Raceway in east Tennessee, but it will be the first time the series has sanctioned the JT Kerr Memorial away from the now closed 411 Motor Speedway. Crate Racin' USA has been a part of nine of the thirteen JT Kerr Memorial events dating back to the very first one in 2012 won by Chris Wilson.

About East Tennessee racing legend JT Kerr: As a driver, Kerr won over 200 races on both dirt and paved short tracks throughout the Southeast and he was inducted into the Atomic Speedway Hall of Fame in 1992. Kerr also claimed the Volunteer Speedway Late Model championship in 1989. He was an active driver well into his 60s, and in 1993 at the age of 63, Kerr was the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Championship Runner-Up with 18 victories at the 411 Motor Speedway.

Previous JT Kerr Memorial winners:
2012-Chris Wilson

2014-Ronnie Johnson
2015-John Ownbey
2016-Cory Hedgecock
2017-Cory Hedgecock

2019-Cory Hedgecock
2020-Greg Martin
2021-Cameron Weaver
2022-Jason Welshan

2024-Ricky Weiss

Last year Ricky Weiss scored the win in what would be the final JT Kerr to be held at the historic 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN back on June 22nd of 2024. This weekend starts a whole new chapter for this historic event as it moves one hour south down interstate 75 to the I-75 Raceway for the very first time!

Racing this weekend will also include on Friday, Front Wheel Drive $350 to-win, 602 Late Models $900 to-win, Sportsman $1,000 to-win, and Limited Late Models 1,250 to-win. Then on Saturday night B-Sportsman will run for $200 to-win, Street Stocks for $1,500 to-win, Dwarf Cars for $200 to-win, 602 Late Models for $1,200 to-win, and the main event a $10,000 to-win Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series feature with prelims taking place on Friday night. The racetrack is also offering an open practice on Thursday night, June 19th starting with pit gates opening at 5:00pm with practice slated to take place between 6:30 and 9:30pm.
