Waters Picks Up the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman Victory at Waycross

(Waycross, GA – June 21, 2025) - Home-track advantage paid off again for Scott Waters on Saturday night as the Waycross, Georgia native claimed his second CRUSA Late Model Sportsman victory of the season at Waycross Motor Speedway. Racing in front of a hometown crowd, Waters started from the outside of the front row and made the most of it, taking the lead early and never looking back in the 20-lap feature.

Polesitter Wyatt Gainey of Ft. White, Florida led the opening circuit, but Waters quickly made his move to the front and controlled the race from there. The smooth, flat 4/10-mile oval once again suited Waters’ driving style as he kept his competitors at bay the rest of the way.

Pierce Thrift charged forward to grab the second position, slipping past Gainey, who would settle for a respectable third-place finish and round out the podium.

The win marks Waters’ second triumph of the 2025 season at Waycross, with his first coming back on April 5.
