Kellems Charges to Victory in CRUSA Street Stocks at Windy Hollow

(Owensboro, KY – July 13, 2025) A hot and humid Sunday night at Windy Hollow Speedway set the stage for a thrilling 20-lap showdown in the Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock division, and fans in Owensboro were treated to a classic. After starting on the outside of the front row, Island, Kentucky’s Corey Kellems powered his way to the lead and never looked back, securing the A Feature win over a stout field of regional talent.

The night began with Matt Kelley of Rockport, IN, setting fast time in qualifying with a blistering 17.485-second lap, earning the pole position. Kellems followed closely in time trials, clocking in just one-tenth of a second off the leader. But it was Kellems who had the upper hand when the green flag dropped for the feature.

As the race unfolded, Kellems quickly took control while the pack shuffled behind him. Jessie Baize of Central City, KY, was one of the night’s biggest movers, gaining three positions to finish runner-up after starting fifth. Another strong drive came from Steve Harrison of Owensville, IN, who moved up three spots to round out the podium in third.

Polesitter Matt Kelley was unable to hold his early advantage and slipped back to fourth by the checkered flag. Rounding out the top five was Clifton Baize, also of Central City, who made an impressive run from the eighth starting spot.

The full field was packed with Baize family talent as Dustin Hall and Jr. Baize battled mid-pack, finishing sixth and seventh respectively. Adam Burch, who qualified third, struggled to find grip in the feature and fell to eighth in the final running order.
