Crate Racin’ USA National Weekly Points Recap: Week 22 of 30
(Eastaboga, AL – July 31, 2025) – As the Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series pushes past the two-thirds mark of the 30-week season, Week 22 delivered pivotal moments across all four divisions, with momentum swings, dramatic jumps, and tightening gaps in nearly every points race.
From the Dirt Late Models to the Modified Sportsman ranks, no one is safe at the top—and no position is locked. As drivers juggle race wins, track appearances, and their best 14-point events, each lap now carries championship weight.
In the CRUSA Dirt Late Models, the spotlight remains on Ben Davis, but a massive leap from David Williamson has shaken up the podium. In the Late Model Sportsman division, while Brett White still leads, both Devin Whatley and Covy Parsons continue to chip away at his advantage in a three-car breakaway.
Meanwhile, the Street Stock division saw its top 7 positions freeze in place, but a surge from Justin Hart and Shelby Sheedy has ignited a new battle for a Top 10 finish. And in Modified Sportsman, a reshuffling of the top five has brought new urgency, with Luke Riddle overtaking second place and setting his sights on leader Colton Grimes.
Week 22 proved that no lead is safe and no gap is too wide to close. With just eight scoring weeks left in the championship run, every position on every track matters more than ever. The road to the national title is heating up—and fans are getting a show to remember.
CRUSA Dirt Late Models – Week 22 Recap
Ben Davis continues to wear the crown at the top of the Dirt Late Model standings, adding five points this week to reach 664. Sid Scarbrough gained three markers but still trails by 16 points as the season enters its final third.
The biggest jump comes from David Williamson, who surged from 8th to 3rd overall with a 99-point boost, now sitting at 624—just 40 points out of the lead. Rookie Brody Williams held his ground in 4th at 604, while James Shirley climbed one spot to 5th with 600 points.
Bubba Mullins made a big leap as well, jumping from 10th to 6th with a 596-point total, continuing a steady rise over the past few weeks. Summer Joiner, Brady Walton, and Chris McElhenney all dropped slightly but remain tightly packed in 7th through 9th.
Former championship leader Shannon Lee slid to 10th, now over 100 points behind Davis. With multiple drivers separated by just a few points, the top 10 remains volatile heading into Week 23.
CRUSA Late Model Sportsman – Week 22 Recap
It was a week of steady progression in the Late Model Sportsman division, as Brett White held firm at 694 points, refusing to give an inch to challengers.
Devin Whatley cut the gap slightly to just 15 points, while Covy Parsons gained 7 points to sit 27 back in third. Those three have separated from the field, but the battle for fourth remains intense.
Allen Edwards quietly moved up from sixth to 6th overall with 614 points, inching closer to the Top 5 after gaining 4 points on the week. Jarrett Jones (R) and Grayson Williams swapped spots, with Jones jumping two positions to 7th after a 49-point gain.
Further down the list, Brodie Thompson climbed into the Top 10 after a strong outing, pushing Mark McCoy and others outside the threshold. The mid-pack is still very much alive, with just 20 points separating positions 7 through 10.
CRUSA Street Stock Division – Week 22 Recap
It was a relatively quiet week at the top of the CRUSA Street Stock standings, with Calvin Martin maintaining his 697-point total for a second straight week. His advantage over Travis Marsh remains at 38 points, while Malachi Magee (R) holds steady in third with 636.
Bryce Sheasby and Carlos Williamson both remained static in 4th and 5th respectively, and the Top 7 showed no positional changes overall.
However, the back half of the Top 10 saw some movement. Justin Hart made a 25-point gain and jumped from 10th to 8th, while Shelby Sheedy also leaped into 9th thanks to a strong outing. Brandon Farmer (R) slipped two positions to 10th.
With five drivers sitting between 530–575 points, the race for the Top 5 is still wide open. A single big weekend could shake up the order dramatically.
CRUSA Modified Sportsman – Week 22 Recap
After a stagnant week prior, the Modified Sportsman division saw major movement in Week 22.
Colton Grimes extended his lead to 580 points, maintaining the top spot. But the most eye-opening change was from Luke Riddle, who jumped from third to second overall after gaining a massive 41 points, leapfrogging Ron Grandel, who remains at 506.
Keith Coan also had a strong week, moving from fifth to fourth with 491 points, pushing rookie Chad Gentry back to fifth. In the mid-pack, Eddie Riddle gained 25 points to hold sixth, while Parker Thompson moved up one position into seventh after adding 46 points.
The bottom half of the Top 10 shifted too, with Parker Price climbing one spot and matching that momentum with solid track performance. This division may have had the most shake-up of all—and with the margins still razor-thin, anything can happen down the stretch.
