Pine Tree 100 Up Next for Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series
(Eastaboga, AL – April 28, 2025) – America’s Leader in Racing returns to action this weekend at the always-exciting Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA, for the Pine Tree 100. The event coincides with the Pine Tree Festival & Southeast Timber Expo, which celebrates its 78th year this weekend in Swainsboro. Headlining the event is the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series, with a $10,000-to-win feature.
Track owner JJ Williams knows just how much this weekend means to the area. “It’s huge for our community and one of the biggest, oldest festivals around,” he said. One particularly unique aspect of the Pine Tree 100 is the hand-carved trophies awarded to the winners. “I met a guy at the festival doing chainsaw carvings,” Williams shared. “He’s been doing it for 14-plus years now. I meet him every year to pick up the trophies in Alabama—it’s almost a four-hour drive.” This is just one of the many things JJ and his team do to make the Pine Tree 100 weekend special. Fans can also check out some of these hand-carved race cars on display around town Saturday morning during the festival.
In addition to the Crate Racin’ USA Late Models, racing action for the weekend will also include:
-CRUSA Street Stocks – $2,000 to win
-CRUSA Late Model Sportsman – $1,000 to win
-Factory Stocks – $1,000 to win
-Crown Vic Pros – $500 to win
-Crown Vic Juniors – $300 to win
The weekend kicks off with an open practice on Thursday from 6–9 p.m., followed by preliminary events on Friday. Feature racing is set for Saturday evening, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and racing beginning at 6:30 p.m. (EST).
This marks only the third-ever visit to Swainsboro for the series, and the first time CRUSA has sanctioned the Pine Tree 100. The event had previously been scheduled but was postponed due to weather. The two previous series visits to Swainsboro featured wins by the Overton brothers: Cody Overton took the victory on August 5, 2023, over Pearson Lee Williams, and Brandon Overton won on November 30, 2024, over Michael Brown during the Turkey 100.
Heading into race number three of the 2025 season, Jeremy Steele leads the championship standings by 12 points over Caleb Gay, and by 16 points over Pearson Lee Williams. Williams is among the select few to have earned a hand-carved Pine Tree 100 trophy, doing so with a win in 2021. Defending series champion Jimmy Thomas is another driver with a strong record at Swainsboro, boasting multiple Pine Tree 100 victories.
