Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series Opens 2025 at Whynot!
(Eastaboga, AL - May 8, 2025) – After a rain-soaked start to the year, the Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series is set to officially launch its 2025 season at the legendary “House of Hook” — Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi — on Saturday, May 17.
Originally scheduled to begin at Pine Ridge Speedway on May 3, Mother Nature had other plans. The baton now passes to Rodney Wing's Whynot Motorsports Park, just west of the Alabama-Mississippi state line, where the clay will fly in what promises to be a thrilling night of dirt track action.
The headlining Crate Late Models will compete for $2,000 to win and $200 to start, the standard purse for each round of the 2025 campaign. The event will also feature a full lineup of local support classes including CRUSA Late Model Sportsman, CRUSA Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Enduro.
Whynot Motorsports Park is located at 4773 JW Reynolds Road, Meridian, MS, and has long been a fan favorite for its competitive surface and family-friendly environment.
The 2025 season follows an exciting inaugural year that saw Chris McElhenney of Decatur, MS claim the championship with three wins and six Top 5 finishes in just seven starts. McElhenney fended off fierce competition from regional standouts such as Chase Cooper, David Williamson, and Sid Scarbrough in a campaign that raised the profile of the Mississippi-based series.
