Brown Leads the Way at Xtreme!
(Danville, AL – July 5, 2025) – Joseph Brown completed a weekend sweep at Xtreme Speedway Saturday night, dominating the $5,000-to-win Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series main event. After capturing the Friday night preliminary feature, Brown started from the pole in Saturday’s 50-lap finale and led every circuit en route to his second career series victory.
The Pine Mountain Valley, GA native credited the track conditions and some key advice in victory lane. “They knocked it out tonight,” Brown said of Xtreme’s new ownership under Brian Mitchell. “They did a heck of a job on the track this weekend.” He also gave a nod to East Tennessee Dirt Late Model veteran Jimmy Owens, adding, “He taught me a lot. He told me to try this and try that and just get after it – and I did.”
Clay Hill, Florida’s Bubba Roling mounted a late-race charge, closing the gap in the final laps but ran out of time, settling for the runner-up spot. Koulten Herbert, Matt Henderson, and Jimmy Thomas rounded out the top five.
Saturday’s action-packed program saw Scorpion Race Cars Hard Charger honors go to Austin Yarbrough, who advanced 12 positions from 19th to 7th. On the opposite end of fortune, Columbus Sports Cards Tough Luck went to Grayson Brewer, the first car out after starting from the third row.
Bama Sheds & Pole Barns Pole Qualifying lit up the timing charts early in the night with Jeremy Steele setting fast time overall in Group B with a 13.722-second lap setting a new track record. Koulten Herbert topped Group A with a 13.896. Notably, neither Brown nor Roling took qualifying times, having locked in through Friday’s twin features.
With his victory, Brown climbs to seventh in the overall standings and carries serious momentum into next weekend’s 22nd Annual Governor’s Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. The July 11-12 show boasts a $10,000 payday and is expected to draw top contenders from across the region.
