Miller Dominates the Tommy Hickerson Memorial

Hohenwald, TN (August 25, 2024) – Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY, put on a spectacular display on Saturday night, winning the $3,000-to-win Tommy Hickerson Memorial at Tennessee National Raceway. This Tri-State Open Wheel Modified Series event saw Miller lead all 35 laps of the main event, marking his dominance on the track and securing his position as the fifth different winner of the 2024 season for the series. Miller earned the top spot with Tyler Wood and Logan Hickerson round out the podium on Saturday night.

The evening was filled with additional notable series awards:
Longest Haul Bonus: Tyler Hurst of Lineville, Alabama, received a $100 bonus for the longest haul, driving in Matt Cantrell's modified from Rome, Georgia. This award was presented by Ferguson Head and Block Repair.

Fastest Qualifier Awards: Clayton Miller was recognized as the overall fastest qualifier, earning $100 from United Farm & Home Co-op - Columbia and an additional $100 from Knowles Race Parts and Bodies, LLC. Randy Todd Auto Glass also awarded Miller $100 for his fastest qualifying time in his group.

Third Quickest Qualifier: Tyler Wood Racing received a $100 cash award from Deborah and Eddie Hickerson for the third quickest qualifying lap.

Hard Charger Award: Justin Ray was honored with the TomCat Performance Hard Charger Award, advancing 10 positions during the race. He also received a cash bonus from Mr. Thunder for his remarkable performance.

The excitement continues for the Tri-State Modified Series as they prepare for their next event on September 7th. The Jimmy Fuller Memorial “Topless Fall Frenzy” at North Alabama Speedway promises to be a standout race, featuring a $5,000-to-win purse and $400 to start. This will be the largest paying event of the season and the first topless race in the series' history. Fans are encouraged to attend as the series honors Jimmy Fuller and his family with this special event.
