Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series Concludes “The Gauntlet” Weekend
(Eastaboga, AL – August 12, 2025) – The Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series lived up to its reputation for fierce competition this past weekend, delivering three features, three different winners, and two unforgettable days of action in the Gauntlet Weekend.
With three 30-lap, $2,000-to-win events on the schedule, the series tested drivers’ endurance, consistency, and determination. By the end of the weekend, fans had witnessed milestone victories, tight battles, and a few shake-ups in the championship standings.
Friday Night at Hattiesburg Speedway – Neil Jr. Breaks Through
The weekend began Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway, where Corey Neil Jr. earned his first career Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series victory. Starting from the pole, Neil Jr. led the field through 30 laps of intense competition, holding off seasoned contenders Sid Scarbrough and Brady Walton to secure the breakthrough win.

On Saturday afternoon, the series shifted to Jackson Motor Speedway for the first of two features. Sid Scarbrough started on the front row and made the most of his opportunity, leading the way to his second career series victory and first of the 2025 season.
Behind Scarbrough, David Williamson crossed the line in second, with points leader Chris McElhenney finishing a strong third to maintain his hold on the championship lead.

Williamson’s performance in the second feature capped a weekend of parity in the series, with three different drivers finding victory lane in three races.
