Crate Racin’ USA National Weekly Points Recap: Week 24 of 30

(Eastaboga, AL - August 13, 2025) - As the CRUSA season powers into the final stretch, Week 24 proved to be anything but predictable. Points shuffled across nearly every division, with leaders feeling the heat and several mid-pack drivers surging into contention. Here’s how the four CRUSA national points races are shaping up after Week 24.

CRUSA Late Models
The Late Model division saw a seismic shake-up this week as David Williamson vaulted from third place to the top of the standings. His consistent performances all season finally paid off, overtaking both Ben Davis and Sid Scarbrough. Williamson now holds a slim 8-point lead over Davis, who drops to second despite adding to his win tally.

Chris McElhenney also made headlines, leaping from ninth all the way to third — a remarkable climb that puts him just 12 points behind the leader. Scarbrough’s slip to fourth was unexpected, especially given his steady run earlier in the season. Meanwhile, Brady Walton surged from eighth to fifth, showing late-season form.

The mid-pack saw plenty of shuffling as well: Shannon Lee climbed from 10th to seventh, James Shirley dipped to eighth, and Summer Joiner held steady in ninth. Bubba Mullins, once battling for the top five, finds himself in 10th.

CRUSA Late Model Sportsman
Brett White remains the man to beat, extending his points lead ever so slightly, but the big story is the scramble behind him. Covy Parsons moved up from third to a close second, just 20 points back, while rookie Jarrett Jones rocketed from seventh to fourth and sits a mere 25 points off the top.

Devin Whatley, who had been White’s primary challenger, slid to third after a less productive week. Zack Owens and Brandon Lunsford swapped spots in the middle of the pack, and Chace Pennington’s Week 24 performance launched him from 12th to seventh — one of the largest jumps in the division this season.

Further back, Spencer Moore, Brodie Thompson, and Grayson Williams all gained ground, while Landon Mathews barely clung to the top 15 after slipping from ninth.

CRUSA Street Stock Division
Calvin Martin continues to reign supreme, extending his dominance with another strong outing. His lead over Travis Marsh remains secure, though Bryce Sheasby’s late-season charge is the headline here — vaulting from fourth to third and closing within striking distance of second.

Malachi Magee’s rookie campaign hit a speed bump as he dropped to fourth, while Corey Buhler jumped from seventh to fifth thanks to steady top-10 finishes. Carlos Williamson slid slightly but remains in the top six, and Shelby Sheedy climbed from 10th to seventh.

The biggest upward movers were Brandon Farmer, who climbed from 11th to ninth, and James Sheasby, up one to 12th. Meanwhile, new faces entered the standings — Johnny Stokes and Richard Zeller — both debuting in a tie for 13th with Cale Buhler.

CRUSA Modified Sportsman
The Modified Sportsman division witnessed a dramatic power shift — Luke Riddle surged from second to first, overtaking early-season leader Colton Grimes. Riddle now holds a 28-point edge over Ron Grandel, who himself jumped from third to second. Grimes, with a quiet week, tumbled to third and sits 33 points back.

Keith Coan and rookie Chad Gentry remain steady in fourth and fifth, but the lower half of the leaderboard was a flurry of movement. Parker Thompson climbed into sixth, Chuck Gipson jumped from ninth to seventh, and Rex Michael moved up a spot to eighth.

Eddie Riddle slid to ninth, while Parker Price and Dees Price remain in a tight battle for 10th and 11th. Jordan Phillips held 12th, and three new names entered the top 15: Chad Williams (13th), Kelly Davis (14th), and Jason Markewitz (15th).

Looking Ahead
With only six weeks remaining, every lap matters. The points gaps are razor-thin in several divisions, and drivers are clearly taking more risks in hopes of climbing the standings. Week 25 promises to be another round of late-season drama as the chase for championships tightens.
