Crate Racin' USA
Hughes Triumph at Hendry County for $10,000
(Eastaboga, AL – February 15, 2026) — Spencer Hughes of Meridian, Mississippi outdueled Rod Tucker to score the $10,000 victory in Saturday night’s Turbo 75 during the Swamp Cabbage 100 weekend at Hendry County Motorsports Park.
Twenty-nine of the nation’s best Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock competitors packed the South Florida bullring, and all 29 took the green flag for the 75-lap showdown on the famed “Fastest Sand Pit in the South.”
Hughes, who rolled off fifth, credited both his competition and the race surface after climbing to victory lane.
“We were pretty good here this weekend,” Hughes said. “Rod (Tucker) was definitely the fastest car all weekend — I just happened to get by him at the right time.” Hughes also praised the Hendry County staff for a multi-groove racing surface that allowed battles throughout the field.
The opening eight laps were slowed by multiple cautions as drivers searched for rhythm and track position. Once the field settled, Tucker asserted control at the front while competitors fanned out across several racing lanes, setting the stage for a classic long-run duel.
From lap 13, Hughes began his charge, first locking into a side-by-side battle with Jason Garver before setting his sights on Jeff Parsons, last year’s Turbo 75 winner. Following a caution on lap 22, Hughes powered past Parsons and went to work on Tucker.
The decisive moment came on lap 31, when Hughes slipped by Tucker on the outside to seize the lead. From there, Hughes paced the field the rest of the way, navigating lap traffic with precision as the fight for positions inside the Top-5 raged behind him.
A late caution on lap 49 reset the deck, nearly spelling trouble for Parsons after contact with a lap car, but Tucker regrouped to fend off challenges from Devin Walker and Parsons. Ethan Wilson (North Carolina) rounded out the Top-5 with a steady, mistake-free run.
Tucker pulled alongside Hughes in the closing circuits, but the leader never faltered, driving away to the checkered flag and the biggest payday of his Street Stock career.
