Cottonwood Speedway Set to Launch 2026 Season on February 21

(Eastaboga, AL – February 16, 2026) – A new chapter begins for Cottonwood Speedway as the historic South Alabama oval kicks off its 2026 racing season with the Season Opener on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the facility located at 426 Bud Moore Rd., Cottonwood, Alabama.

Formerly known as Dothan Motor Speedway during the 2025 season, Cottonwood Speedway continues its evolution while honoring a rich racing tradition that dates back to the track’s opening in 2002. The 2026 season marks another milestone as the speedway becomes a Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned track, welcoming CRUSA competition to the region.

Cottonwood Speedway will feature Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned Late Model Sportsman (602's) and Street Stock divisions throughout the 2026 season, allowing competitors to earn CRUSA National Points weekly. The official Crate Racin' USA National Points season runs from February 23 through September 27, giving Cottonwood Speedway drivers a full slate of opportunities to chase national recognition.

The 2026 Season Opener will showcase a full night of grassroots racing action with multiple divisions in competition, highlighted by solid payouts across the card: CRUSA Late Model Sportsman – $1,000 to win, CRUSA Street Stock – $700 to win, Factory Stock – $600 to win, Vintage – $500 to win, Crown Vic – $400 to win, FWD Stock – $300 to win, and Beginner – $150 to win.
