Talladega Set to Welcome World of Outlaws Sprint Cars
(Eastaboga, AL – March 2, 2026) — The engines are about to roar in Eastaboga as World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars thunder into the famed Talladega Short Track on Friday night, March 6, ushering in a marquee event that signals the start of the 2026 racing season at “The Hornet’s Nest.”
Widely regarded as the most powerful and prestigious sprint car series in the world, the World of Outlaws will bring their 900-plus horsepower machines to the quarter-mile clay oval for a one-night-only showdown under the lights. Fans can expect breathtaking speed, daring slide jobs, and edge-of-your-seat racing as the Outlaws take on one of the Southeast’s most intense bullrings.
Friday night’s card will also feature Factory Stocks, adding to an action-packed evening for race fans of all ages. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 PM, with hot laps slated for 6:30 PM as anticipation builds for the main event. Following Friday night’s event, Talladega Short Track will shift its focus to teams and drivers preparing for the upcoming season by hosting a Preseason Open Practice on Saturday night, March 7. The practice session is open to all divisions, giving racers the opportunity to shake down their equipment, dial in setups, and get valuable track time ahead of opening night.
Saturday’s schedule will see pit gates open at 5:00 PM, with on-track practice running from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Pit admission is $25 per person, while grandstand admission is free, inviting fans to come out, watch the action, and get a first look at cars and drivers gearing up for the 2026 campaign.
The 49th season of racing at the Talladega Short Track will get underway on Saturday, March 14th with race 1 of the new TST Cup Points, featuring CRUSA Dirt Late Models, CRUSA 602 LM Sportsman, CRUSA Modified, Talladega Sportsman, Factory Stock, Hot Shots, and Mini Stocks.
