13th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals Set for August 13–16 at Whynot Motorsports Park

(Eastaboga, AL - May 22, 2025) - One of the South’s most iconic dirt racing spectacles returns this summer as the 13th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals takes center stage at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. Scheduled for August 13–16, this massive event promises high-octane action featuring the best Street Stock and Factory/Pure Stock drivers from across the southeast.

With over 220 cars participating in last year’s event, including more than 100 Street Stocks and over 100 Factory Stock/Pure Stocks, this year’s edition is expected to once again bring a record setting crowd, roaring engines, and packed grandstands. The sight of 30+ Street Stocks going three-wide into Turn One is one race fans simply can’t miss.

This year’s Nationals will once again serve as a points event for both the Mississippi Street Stock Series (MSSS) and Crate Racin’ USA (CRUSA) Street Stocks, with regional and national championship implications on the line. It will be the second stop of the season for the series at the famed “House of Hook,” where Caiden Jackson claimed the victory earlier this spring.

“Yes, this is the biggest and best event we've ever held at Whynot—it’s really taken on a life of its own,” said Whynot Motorsports Park owner Rodney Wing. “We’ve had to scale back to just two classes so we can wrap up each night at a reasonable time. And every year, it just keeps getting better!”

CRUSA Series Director Adam Stewart echoed the sentiment, adding, “This event is incredibly important to both the division and the sport as a whole. It shows how competitive this class is and how a uniform rules package allows diverse teams to compete on equal footing. It’s a marquee event that doesn’t need late models to draw attention—that speaks volumes.”

Pre-registration, reserved pit parking, and camping open on June 1, with teams encouraged to reserve early by calling (228) 348-6628.

Local hero Chad Thrash will look to defend his title and claim a fourth win after a dominant performance in 2024, where he led 46 of 50 laps. The only other driver to lead laps in the main event was Travis Marsh of McHenry, MS. A total of 36 drivers took the green flag in last year’s thrilling A-Main.
