CRUSA National Points Championships Come Down to the Wire in Week 30
(Eastaboga, AL – September 25, 2025) – The 2025 Crate Racin’ USA National Points season reaches its dramatic conclusion this weekend, as all four weekly racing divisions head into the 30th and final week of competition. With multiple championships separated by razor-thin margins, the stage is set for one of the most thrilling finales in series history.
The CRUSA Dirt Late Models enter the final week with the closest points battle in recent memory. Defending champion David Williamson of Seminary, MS, holds the lead with 695 points, thanks to nine wins and 22 top-five finishes this season.
However, the margin is slim, as three drivers sit tied just 12 points back at 683 – Sid Scarbrough (Florence, MS), Brady Walton (Greenwell Springs, LA), and Chris McElhenney (Decatur, MS). Tiebreakers will be critical if this deadlock remains through the weekend.
Ben Davis (Poplarville, MS) remains in striking distance at 676 points, only 19 off the lead, while veterans Shannon Lee, Nick Thrash, and Kevin DuPont are still lurking with hopes of a late surge. With just one weekend left, the Dirt Late Model crown is far from decided.
The CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division is set for a close finale. Brett White (Kosciusko, MS) holds the top spot with 699 points, backed by 13 wins and 25 top-five finishes in 28 starts.
Right on his heels, Chace Pennington (Steens, MS) has surged into contention with 698 points, just one marker behind White. Pennington’s impressive 12 wins in only 17 starts give him momentum entering the final weekend.
Just behind them, Devin Whatley (Florence, MS, 689), Jarrett Jones (Guntown, MS, 686), and Covy Parsons (Iuka, MS, 683) are all within 16 points of the lead. With five drivers still alive in the title hunt, the Sportsman crown is likely to be decided in the final laps of Week 30.
In the CRUSA Modified Sportsman division, consistency has put Luke Riddle (Hartselle, AL) on top with 687 points, built on 21 events, 19 feature starts, and five wins.
The fight just behind him is fierce, with Keith Coan (Town Creek, AL) and Ron Grandel (Waterford, MS) tied for second at 660 points, just 27 markers back. Both drivers are poised to capitalize should Riddle falter.
Behind them, a three-way battle for fourth through sixth adds to the drama. Parker Thompson (608), Chuck Gipson (603), and Colton Grimes (602) are separated by just six points. The rest of the Top-10 features Eddie Riddle, Rex Michael, Parker Price, and rookie Chad Gentry, all looking to close their seasons on a strong note.
While Riddle remains the favorite, the Modified Sportsman finale promises to deliver fireworks with positions two through six wide open.
The CRUSA Street Stock division heads into Week 30 with Calvin Martin (Carriere, MS) continuing to lead with 699 points, his season highlighted by 18 wins in 28 starts.
Just behind him, Bryce Sheasby (Hattiesburg, MS) sits at 689 points, only 10 back, thanks to 10 victories of his own. Their head-to-head battle could define the championship.
The fight for third is nearly as close, with Travis Marsh (McHenry, MS, 663) narrowly holding off James Sheasby (Hattiesburg, MS, 658). Luke Rutter (Hanson, KY, 656) and rookie Malachi Magee (Seminary, MS, 642) remain within reach of a top-five finish.
Further down, Shelby Sheedy, Carl Kilgore IV, Clayton Kilgore (R), and Corey Buhler (R) round out a top-10 that saw several position changes after Week 29. With new faces climbing into the mix, the Street Stock finale promises as much intrigue as the championship battle up front.
With four divisions all separated by narrow margins, the 2025 CRUSA National Points finale promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. From the razor-thin lead in the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division, to the three-way tie in the CRUSA Dirt Late Models, to the CRUSA Street Stock dogfight, the stage is set for a huge final weekend.
Fans can expect high drama, close racing, and championships decided by the slimmest of margins as Crate Racin’ USA’s 2025 points season reaches its final checkered flag.
