Crate Racin' USA
Hughes Wins CRUSA Late Model Sportsman Tour Stop at Needmore
(Eastaboga, AL – November 24, 2025) — The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour returned to Needmore Speedway over the weekend as part of the 14th Annual Early Bird 50, and the series delivered yet another first-time storyline of the 2025 season. Ashford, Alabama’s Dustin Hughes broke through in commanding fashion, becoming the ninth different winner of the year after topping Saturday night’s 30-lap main event for a $2,500 payday.
Hughes set the tone early with a strong qualifying effort and a heat race win before rolling from the outside of the front row in the feature. Once the green flag fell, he wasted no time taking control of the race and never relinquished the top spot, surviving multiple challenges through lapped traffic and late-race restarts to secure his first career Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour victory.
Behind Hughes, Allen Styck of Andersonville, Tennessee capped off a solid weekend with a runner-up finish, while Bubba Roling made one of the drives of the night — advancing from the 12th starting position to finish third. Points leader Brayden Johnson added to his championship cushion in dramatic fashion, charging from 21st to sixth and earning Hard Charger honors with a +15 performance.
Early pole sitter James Willis led the field to green but settled into a top-five run, ultimately finishing fifth. Consistency also played a major role for championship contenders Chase Giddens (fourth) and Caleb Ashby (eighth), who remain within striking distance with only the season finale remaining.
