Tucker Inherits $4,000 Street Stock Spring 40 Victory at Cochran

(Cochran, GA – March 8, 2026) — Cochran Motor Speedway roared to life on Saturday as Greenville, South Carolina driver Rod Tucker was awarded the $4,000-to-win Street Stock Spring 40 victory following a post-race inspection that disqualified the initial race winner.

The 40-lap feature saw polesitter Hayden Cardwell lead the field early, but Tucker quickly established himself as one of the fastest cars on the track. After qualifying third fastest earlier in the evening, Tucker chased Cardwell from lap three onward, staying within striking distance throughout the caution-filled feature.

When the checkered flag initially waved, Cardwell crossed the line first, but following post-race technical inspection officials determined Cardwell had failed inspection, resulting in a disqualification. That handed the victory to Tucker, who had been running among the leaders all night and was credited with the $4,000 payday in the Crate Racin' USA Street Stocks special event.

Andrew Stone finished second after running near the front of the field all race long, while Tyler Davis completed the podium in third. Jared Jones came home fourth with Grady Christian rounding out the top five after an impressive charge from the 15th starting position.

Christian’s drive through the field earned him Hard Charger honors, advancing nine spots during the 40-lap main event. Donnie Bazemore Jr. and Robert Fail also made notable progress through the field, each climbing eight positions during the race.

A total of 26 Street Stock entries signed in for the event, highlighting the strong support for the lucrative Spring 40 program.

Crate Racin’ USA weekly competition also highlighted the program with the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division in action with 21 entries in the pit area.

In the 20-lap feature event, Chaz Haskins drove to victory after starting from the outside of the front row. Haskins held off a determined charge from Wiley McDaniel, who finished second, while Lark Haskins completed the podium in third after starting on the pole.

Dustin Diem finished fourth with Marvin Fulford rounding out the top five.

The race was preceded by three qualifying heat races earlier in the evening, setting the starting lineup for the feature.
