Brown and Thomas Score CRUSA Wins at East Alabama

(Phenix City, AL – May 3, 2026) – The “Playground of Power” was alive and well Saturday night as East Alabama Motor Speedway hosted another round of weekly racing action featuring two Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned divisions. A strong field of competitors filled the pit area, with CRUSA Dirt Late Models and CRUSA Late Model Sportsman delivering an exciting night of racing in Phenix City, Alabama.

In the 25-lap CRUSA Dirt Late Model feature, Joseph Brown continued his impressive 2026 campaign by charging to victory in the 14-car field. Starting from the outside front row, Brown took control early and held off a determined challenge from polesitter Allen Styck to secure the win.

Styck finished second, while Caleb Gay made one of the biggest moves of the race, advancing from 10th to finish third. Tyler Thomason and Joey Thomas completed the top five at the checkered flag.

Styck set fast time in qualifying with a lap of 15.131 seconds, narrowly edging Brown and Kyle Knotts in a tightly contested session.

The CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division brought the largest field of the night with 22 entries, setting the stage for a competitive 20-lap feature event.

When the green flag dropped, Jimmy Thomas wasted no time asserting himself at the front of the field. Starting from the pole position, Thomas led the way and never relinquished the top spot, driving to a convincing victory over a hard-charging field.

Terrance Nowell put together an impressive run from ninth to finish second, while Brent Cartwright crossed the line in third. Bubba Gorman and Griffin Jones rounded out the top five finishers.

The Sportsman program featured competitive heat race action earlier in the evening, with Thomas and Gorman each scoring heat race victories. Nowell set the pace in qualifying with a quick lap of 15.864 seconds.

Saturday night’s racing once again highlighted the depth of talent competing weekly at East Alabama Motor Speedway, a premier CRUSA sanctioned facility where drivers continue to chase valuable national points throughout the 2026 season.

East Alabama Motor Speedway will return to action on Saturday, May 9, when the Monster X Monster Truck Tour invades the Playground of Power. Fans can expect an unforgettable night featuring five high-powered monster trucks, pre-race fan interaction and meet-and-greets, along with post-show monster truck rides.

In addition to the monster truck action, racing will also include:
CRUSA 604 Late Models, CRUSA Modified Sportsman, Road Warrior, and Crown Vic divisions.
