CRUSA Late Model Sportsman Tour Heads to The Mag for the 602 Sportsman World Championship

(Eastaboga, AL – May 20, 2026) – Fresh off an exciting weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park, the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour remains in the Magnolia State this weekend for one of the biggest events of the 2026 season — the 602 Sportsman World Championship at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi.

The “MAG,” owned and promoted by Johnny Stokes, better known throughout dirt racing as “Dr. Dirt,” will host the prestigious $5,000-to-win event across a massive three-day Memorial Day weekend showcase beginning Friday, May 22 and concluding Sunday, May 24. Magnolia Motor Speedway

The weekend opens Friday night with open practice scheduled from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM for all divisions before racing officially gets underway Saturday night with qualifying and heat races for the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman Tour competitors.

Sunday night will feature B-Mains, the Non-Qualifier Race, and the headline 50-lap 602 Sportsman World Championship finale paying $5,000-to-win and $400-to-start. The Sunday night finale will award official series championship points as Round Three of the 2026 tour season.

The event will also feature a full weekend of racing action including the William Wells 3 Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks, Johnson Motorsports Factory Stocks, Four Season/Bad Boys CRUSA Modifieds, Eaton Clinic Crown Vics, and the All-Star Body Center Crate Late Models, which will race Sunday night only for $1,000-to-win based on 12 entries.

The tour enters Magnolia following Chace Pennington’s breakthrough victory at Whynot Motorsports Park this past Saturday night. The Steens, Mississippi driver added his name to the growing list of tour winners and now heads to a track where he has already collected two victories this season along with another podium finish.

Meanwhile, the championship battle is beginning to intensify as eight drivers have competed in both events contested so far this season. Current points leader Caleb Ashby carries just a four-point advantage over Dustin Harris entering the weekend, while the top eight drivers in the standings remain separated by only 46 points.

The 602 Sportsman World Championship will feature a strong payout structure for Sunday night’s 50-lap finale: 1-$5,000, 2-$2,500, 3-$1,500, 4-$1,000, 5-$900, 6-$800, 7-$700, 8-$600, 9-$550, 10-$525, 11-$500,12-$475, 13-$450, 14-$425, and 15-24. $400

A special Non-Qualifier Race paying $500-to-win will also be contested Sunday, with the winner having the option to forfeit the winnings and transfer into the main event field.

Drivers meeting times are scheduled for 6:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday with racing to immediately follow.
