Mathews and Davis Capture CRUSA Weekly Wins at Swainsboro
(Eastaboga, AL - September 29, 2025) – Swainsboro Raceway played host to a special weekend of racing as the Crown Vic Nationals stormed into Swainsboro, Georgia, bringing 28 Crown Vics for a $1,250-to-win showdown. Alongside the national spotlight event, two Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing divisions – the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman and CRUSA Street Stocks – thrilled fans with competitive feature events.
The 15-lap CRUSA Late Model Sportsman feature saw Landon Mathews put on a dominant performance, taking control from the drop of the green flag and never looking back. Mathews, who started from the outside of the front row, led all 15 laps en route to the victory.
Cameron Tribble (No. 1) and Dustin Watkins (No. 4) battled their way forward to claim podium spots in second and third, respectively. Caleb Gay (No. 39) and Johnnie Tucker Jr. (No. 8) rounded out the top five. Pole-sitter Donnie Bazemore Jr. (No. 28), who set fast time in qualifying at 16.441 seconds, slipped to an eighth-place finish after showing early speed.

In CRUSA Street Stock competition, it was a two-part story. Robert Fail (No. 49) dominated the early going, leading the opening eight laps after setting fast time in qualifying with a 17.570-second lap. However, as the race reached the halfway point, Matt Davis (No. 9) powered to the front on lap nine and never looked back, securing the feature win after leading the final seven laps.
Fail settled for fourth at the checkered flag, while Joshua Nelms (No. 77) and Tyler Sanders (No. 3) completed the podium. Dayton Sousa (No. 20) drove a steady race to round out the top five.

Swainsboro Raceway will roar back to life on Saturday, October 11th, with a packed weekly racing program. Fans can expect action in Crown Vic Jr., Crown Vic Pro, Factory Stock, CRUSA Dirt Late Models, CRUSA Street Stocks, and CRUSA Late Model Sportsman divisions as the fall racing season continues.
