Talladega Moves Forward with Friday Night Racing Following WoO Cancellation
(Eastaboga, AL – April 24, 2026) – Officials at Talladega Short Track have announced that while the World of Outlaws Late Model Series portion of the Alabama Gang 100 weekend has been canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions, racing action will still go on Friday night at “The Hornet’s Nest.”
The decision to cancel the World of Outlaws events was made with the safety of fans, teams, and officials as the top priority, while also helping minimize travel risks and expenses for competitors traveling from across the country.
Despite the cancellation of the touring series, Talladega Short Track will move forward with a full program of local racing action on Friday, April 24, giving fans and teams an opportunity to still enjoy a night of high-speed competition on the high-banked red clay oval.
Friday night’s program will feature strong payouts across all divisions, headlined by $1,500-to-win Crate Racin’ USA 604 Late Models, along with $1,000-to-win events for the CRUSA 602 Late Model Sportsman, CRUSA Modifieds, and Factory Stocks. The Hot Shot division will also be in action racing for $500 to win.
In an added bonus for competitors, track officials have waived entry fees for all divisions, further encouraging participation for the evening’s event.
Fans can expect a full night of competitive racing, as local drivers take center stage in front of what is anticipated to be another strong crowd at one of the Southeast’s premier dirt racing facilities.
Gates will open at 4:00 PM, with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 PM, followed by racing action shortly after.
Grandstand admission is set at $25 for adults, with kids 9 and under admitted free. Pit admission will be $40 for adults, $20 for kids ages 6–12, and free for children 5 and under.
Track officials also confirmed that all events scheduled for Saturday have been canceled.
