Golden Egg Spring Nationals Delivers a Big Weekend at Magnolia
(Eastaboga, AL – April 13, 2026) – A massive weekend of racing unfolded at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, for the 2026 Golden Egg Spring Nationals, as the Southern Dirt Street Stock Series headlined the event with an impressive 53-car field and a $5,000-to-win feature to cap off the action-packed weekend.
When the dust settled on Saturday night, it was Tyler Nicely standing in victory lane, capturing the win in the second event of the inaugural 2026 Southern Dirt Street Stock Series season. Nicely outdueled a stacked field of competitors in one of the most competitive Street Stock events of the year, adding his name to the early list of winners as the championship battle continues to take shape.
The weekend also featured a full slate of Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing divisions, with strong car counts and standout performances across both Friday and Saturday programs.
Friday night action saw RJ Emison dominate the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman feature, leading from the pole to pick up the win over Covy Parsons and Colby Ponds. Emison backed up his performance by setting fast time in qualifying and winning his heat race, completing a near-perfect night at “The Mag.”
In CRUSA Modified Sportsman competition on Friday, Dees Price powered his way to victory lane, taking the win over Jason Markewitz and Spencer Hughes. Price maintained control throughout the feature while holding off multiple late-race challenges to secure the victory.
Saturday night brought a fresh round of feature racing, beginning with the CRUSA Dirt Late Models. David Williamson claimed the victory after a failed post-race tech inspection of the race's original winner. Trent McLeod and Morgen Lambert finished out the podium.
The CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division returned to the track Saturday, where Chace Pennington rebounded from Friday night misfortune to score the victory. Pennington worked his way forward from a fourth-place starting position to take the win over Josh Parkerson and Colby Ponds. Covy Parsons and Spencer Moore completed the top five, while Friday winner RJ Emison finished sixth.
In CRUSA Modified Sportsman action on Saturday, Spencer Hughes found redemption of his own, driving to victory lane after a strong run in the feature. Hughes held off Jason Markewitz and Parker Price to claim the win, while Friday night winner Dees Price recorded a solid fourth-place finish to cap off a consistent weekend.
