Mathews Steals Victory on Final Lap at The Historic 441 Speedway
(Dublin, GA – April 25, 2026) — A thrilling night of weekly racing unfolded at The Historic 441 Speedway as fans were treated to late-race drama and dominant performances across Crate Racin’ USA divisions. When the dust settled, it was Landon Mathews delivering a dramatic last-lap pass to win the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman feature, while Matt Davis continued his winning ways in the CRUSA Street Stock division.
Mathews Makes Last-Lap Move for Sportsman Victory:
The CRUSA Late Model Sportsman feature provided the highlight of the night, as Lark Haskins appeared poised to go flag-to-flag after leading the opening 19 laps of the 20-lap main event. Haskins, who also set fast time in qualifying with a lap of 15.250 seconds, controlled the race from the drop of the green flag and held off challenges from Daniel Brown and Landon Mathews throughout the event.
However, on the final circuit, Mathews made his move count. Charging from his fourth-place starting position, Mathews found just enough speed and momentum to slip past Haskins and steal the victory coming to the checkered flag.
Haskins settled for a hard-fought second-place finish, while Daniel Brown completed the podium in third. Caleb Gay crossed the line fourth, followed by Eric Baggett in fifth. Ken Ricks finished sixth, with Eric Baggett Jr. advancing to seventh. Brandon McDaniel, Jimmy Price, Cameron Rollins, Jason Howell, and Wesley Robertson rounded out the finishing order.
