MS Crate Late Racing Series Set for Double-Header Weekend
(Eastaboga, AL – May 6, 2026) – The 2026 season rolls on for the Mississippi Crate Late Racing Series (MSCLRS) as teams prepare for a pivotal double-header weekend featuring a pair of $2,000-to-win events across the state of Mississippi.
The series returns to action on Friday, May 8 at Hattiesburg Speedway before heading south on Saturday, May 9 for a Mother’s Day Special at Mitchell’s Motorplex, setting the stage for a big weekend of Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model competition.
Track and series officials are closely monitoring the weather forecast for the weekend and will provide updates as needed.
Through the first three events of the 2026 Championship Chase, the MSCLRS has seen three different winners in three races, showcasing the depth of competition across the series. Corey Neil Jr. and Sid Scarbrough split the opening weekend at Pike County Speedway, while Spencer Hughes captured the most recent victory during the Battle of the States at Whynot Motorsports Park in front of a season-high 31-car field.
As the series heads into the weekend, the championship battle is as tight as it gets with a three-way tie atop the standings. Nick Thrash, Chris McElhenney, and Landen Jackson are deadlocked at 360 points, with Sid Scarbrough just ten points back in fourth.

With championship points on the line both nights, drivers will also have an added incentive as a $500 bonus awaits any competitor who can sweep the weekend.
Additional awards include a $100 Fast Time Award presented by Allstar Performance, along with a $100 fire suit credit from Sublmtd awarded to one driver at each event.
