Jones Wins at Needmore; South Georgia Showdown Finale Canceled

(Norman Park, GA – January 31, 2026) — Deisel Jones of Alabaster, Alabama, delivered a commanding performance Friday night at Needmore Speedway, leading all 30 laps to claim a $3,000 victory with the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series during the South Georgia Showdown.

Starting third, Jones took control of the Crate Racin’ USA feature when pole-sitter Griffin Smith was collected in a lap-one incident with Jonah Bozeman. The contact forced Smith’s No. 22 to the trailer with a broken shock, handing the point to Jones, who never looked back en route to his second Winter Shootout Series win of the season.

The victory paid $3,000 after the purse was increased earlier in the day from its original $2,000-to-win amount. Giving Jones the points lead heading into the season finale at Cochran on February 28th.

Chase Giddens advanced from seventh to finish second, while Wil Herrington completed the podium. Series points leader Michael Page charged forward 16 positions from 21st to finish fifth, earning Scorpion Race Cars Hard Charger honors.

Griffin Smith paced the 27-car field in Bama Sheds & Pole Barns Pole Qualifying before his night ended early, resulting in Columbus Sports Cards Tough Luck Award recognition. Keaton Smith posted the fastest lap in MyRacePass/Fantasy Racing Hot Laps.
